Coaching Workshops for June

A new series of coaching workshops will be facilitated by professionals with the focus on training and development. The series will run from June 2015 to January 2016. The first two workshops are scheduled for June 1 and June 13. A registration link is found at the end of this post.

Monday June 1, 2015  Strength training for the endurance athlete
George Chiappa is CSAD founder and strength consultant for Nakkertok and the OST.

Saturday June 13, 2015    Active Recovery Techniques
Physiotherapist and XC ski coach Suzanne Reid will lead you in a hands-on workshop about active recovery.
  • use of foam roller
  • post training stretching
Bring: athletic wear, yoga mat, foam roller

Time:  9:00am to 10:30am
Place:  Nakkertok South - Blue room

Other workshops in the series will include:
  • ski-walking/bounding technique
  • strength training - basic techniques (squat, deadlift. etc)
  • fundamental movement skills
  • basic gymnastics skills for athletes
  • ski-wax testing
  • biomechanics of skiing
  • nutrition for endurance athletes
